Medical images are useful in clinical diagnosis, treatment assessment, and various research areas such as brain function, cognitive psychology, musculoskeletal physiology, animal experiments, etc. Medical image investigation includes two major parts: image acquisition (modalities such as ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, positron emission tomography, etc.) and post-processing (image processing and statistical analysis).

This class is project oriented. Students will be able to apply theories to real data and whereby learn practical investigation methods.
